The roof is finally on and now I pick up the pieces.
I have a flame thrower at the ready and its burn baby burn to get the carbon collection finished.
"Moulin Rouge" sold last month from the Artstore in Barnstaple, where I still have my bird chair on display.
Up in London now for 5 days researching bigger venues to show my chairs. Any ideas?
Enjoy sitting around !!

My studio had a direct hit from local gas explosion and have been waiting for this to be sorted. Yippee, new roof now complete, can now get back to creating.

Have been absent from workshop recently due to finding a new home. This is now happening and we are designing new work which we will showcase in September. The carbon collection is also being continued, now we will have space to have proper 'burnings'!
Watch this space.

    KATE STAiNTHORP

By combining my background in design and textiles and my husband's skills as a carpenter/sculptor we could restore and re-upholster furniture together in our workshop. Now five years on I have re-trained and learnt the skills and techniques of Traditional Upholstery. Geoff, my husband, handles the restoration and makes his own pieces of furniture. We travel to auctions and flea markets picking up curiosities and furniture in need of restoration and breath new life into it. I hunt for vintage and unusual fabrics and braids and use unexpected or re-cycled coverings where ever possible. We welcome commissions and consultations can be arranged at the workshop or in your own home. Please e-mail me for more information or visit the gallery.
